One of the goals when I create art is to be able to use it to enrich other people’s lives and my own. I’ve been able to achieve this through special art showings to benefit charities.I’ve been active with the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation through several events raising money to support their philanthropic activities for Parrish Medical Center. Recently, I was able to help raise funds for the Friends of the New Smyrna Beach Library. My friend Beverly Poitier-Henderson, daughter of famed actor Sidney Poitier, joined me in an event for both charities. We both gave inspiring talks about creativity and our work was available for sale.
It always renews my spirit when I’m painting to think about the benefit it may give to others. That may be why people say they see love in my art.
